Rare 1929 King George V stamp
Description
The £1 Postal Union Congress stamp was issued in 1929. It is generally agreed to be the most striking and beautiful GB postage stamp ever issued. The stamp was designed by Harold Nelson and bears the head of King George V and an image of St. George and the dragon. This example is on a registered cover used locally in Birmingham in 1930. The photographs show the Birmingham registered post adhesive label and the stamp itself in very fine condition with four clear margins. The stamp has been cancelled with a neat strike of Post Office Counter date stamp (CDS) showing the date 13 February 1930. Rare and attractive…seldom seen this fine. Postally used examples of the £1 value are much sought after by collectors and investors in fine GB
