This is a first edition published in 1934 by Chapman and Hall London. In very fine condition with the original pictorial dust wrapper. First editions with the dust wrapper are very hard to find. When available a copy in this condition generally sells for around £750. A high-end American book dealer presently has an author signed copy of this title which is priced at £3,892. The book being auctioned is exactly as photographed. Covered in removable archival clear cover for its protection. Bernard Darwin (1876 - 1961) was the grandson of the evolutionary theorist Charles Darwin. He was a barrister turned full time golf writer. Universally accepted to be the finest golf writer of his time. He was an excellent amateur golfer and captained The Walker Cup team in 1922. He was also captain of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club in 1934 - the year in which this book was published
