Description

The Best of Alex Book Bundle: The Alex strip by the political cartoonists of The Telegraph, Charles Peattie and Russell Taylor.

'The Best of Alex 2021' - The world lurches through another year of Covid-19 with a new raft of lockdowns, tier systems, mask diktats and travel bans, but financial markets - impervious to humanitarian tragedy - are booming and the City is awash with deals. The pandemic has drawn up the battle lines between various social factions: Vaxxers vs anti-vaxxers, home workers vs office bods, Zoomers vs lunchers, Baby Boomers vs Millennials. Naturally Alex is at the heart of all these conflicts, manipulating the tensions to secure maximum advantage for himself.

'The Best of Alex 2022' - Just as the world was becoming a bit of a dull place, with only Brexit, Covid and climate change to worry about, along came 2022 bringing a war in Ukraine, resurgent inflation, an energy crisis, a tech crash and an impending global recession. In the corporate world bosses are trying to entice their staff back to the office post Covid, banking juniors are “quiet quitting” their jobs, financial regulators go on strike and even tyrannical American boss Cyrus bunks off work to get married.

The books are signed by both cartoonists, and Chris Beetles Gallery represent the original artwork that is published in the Telegraph.
