Balgownie is much lauded by informed reviewers of ‘must play’ golf links courses in Scotland. The layout is a straight nine out (along the coast) and nine back (with views over the granite city). It’s invariably in quite immaculate condition and the greens can run very fast. Highlights include the first hole (photographed) and the par 3 eighth hole (the green is surrounded by ten bunkers). On a blustery day (not uncommon) the course can be challenging, particularly off the back tees. Interested bidders might note that this is likely to be restricted to Monday - Friday due to weekends being largely reserved for competitions for Balgownie members.
